Pedro's obituary

Pedro Antonio Infante lovingly called “Pedrito” was born in the lushes and rural hamlet of Jamamucito in San Jose de las Matas in the Dominican Republic. He married his childhood sweetheart Ana Hilda Perez. They both moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1977 where they had three boys Elvis, Fernando and Ariel. The family enjoyed a great life surrounded by extended family in Williamsburg.

For many years Pedrito was a loved staple of the community where he co-owned a bodega with his brother in-law Sergio Perez. He was specially loved by the children of the neighborhood for his generous wisdom which was often accompanied by sweets. He was welcoming to all, both at the bodega as well as to his home. On an average day he could be found playing cards and other games with his wife, family and friends.

Pedrito’s life was filled with fantastic milestones. Most recently he celebrated 46 years of a happy and fruitful marriage. He got to spoil his grandson Joshua and witnessed all his son’s marriages to their loving spouses. One of which was celebrated in Cancun Mexico where he and his wife enjoyed the celebrity of his namesake in Mexico. During his life Pedrito always honored and celebrated his roots by annual visits and contribution to his family and the community that raised him.

After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Pedrito’s joy for life and whole hearted optimism gave him the strength and longevity to thrive and endure his treatment, turning a 6 months prognoses into 4 years of joy with family. During treatment, Pedrito made it his mission to make the doctors and nurses laugh during all of his monthly visits.

Pedro Antonio Infante passed at home on December 31, 2020 surrounded by his wife, three sons and their spouses. He will be forever remembered for being a pillar for his family and friends, sense of humor and most of all his contagious joy.

Pedro Antonio Infante, cariñosamente llamado “Pedrito”, nació en la naturaleza unica en el campo de Jamamucito en San Jose de las Matas en la República Dominicana. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Ana Hilda Pérez. Ambos se mudaron a Brooklyn, Nueva York en 1977, donde tuvieron tres hijos, Elvis, Fernando y Ariel. La familia disfrutó de una gran vida rodeada de familiares en Williamsburg.

Durante muchos años, Pedrito fue una persona querida de la comunidad donde era copropietario de una bodega con su cuñado Sergio Pérez. Fue especialmente querido por los niños del barrio por su generosa sabiduría, a menudo era acompañada de dulces. Fue acogedor a todos, tanto en la bodega como en su casa. En un día normal se le podía encontrar jugando a las cartas y otros juegos con su esposa, familia y amigos.

La vida de Pedrito estuvo llena de momentos fantásticos. Más recientemente celebró 46 años de un matrimonio de abundancia y felicidad. Disfruto de poder mimar a su nieto Joshua y fue testigo de todos los matrimonios de su hijos con sus amadas parejas. Uno de los cuales se celebró en Cancún México, donde él y su esposa disfrutaron de la celebridad de su tocayo el cantante Mexicano. Durante su vida, Pedrito siempre honró y celebró sus raíces con visitas anuales y contribuciones a su familia y la comunidad que lo crió.

Después de ser diagnosticado con cáncer de páncreas, la alegría por la vida y su sumo optimismo que le dieron a Pedrito la fortaleza y ​​la supervivencia para prosperar y superar durante sus tratamientos, convirtiendo un pronóstico de 6 meses de vida en 4 años de alegría con la familia. Durante el tratamiento, Pedrito se propuso hacer reír a los médicos y enfermeras durante todas sus visitas mensuales.

Pedro Antonio Infante falleció en su casa el 31 de diciembre de 2020 rodeado por su esposa, tres hijos y sus parejas. Siempre será recordado por ser un pilar para su familia y amigos, su sentido del humor y sobre todo su alegría contagiosa.
