Pearl's obituary

Pearl Lean Terry, 78, of Coralville, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Coralville after a long battle with cancer. Her life will be celebrated on May 17, 2021, her birthday, during a small ceremony at North Ridge Pavilion in Coralville, IA.

Pearl Terry was born on May 17, 1942, in Sunflower, MS, the daughter of Lulu Mae and J.A. Burns. Pearl worked various jobs during her lifetime as a nurse’s assistant, nanny, and hairstylist. She enjoyed raising her children, grandchildren, fishing, cooking, listening to blues music, and shopping at antique stores. Pearl was also a prankster and loved to play pranks on family and friends. Pearl was previously married to Clarence Terry who is the father to all of her children. He passed away on December 12, 2012.

Pearl will be missed by her children, Dytanyon (Michelle) Terry of Ankeny, Shona (Will) Brandon of Coralville, nine grandchildren, Tishay Steel, Jamese Alexander, Chantryce Cage, Romello Gray, Kayla Alexander, Jayliah Miller, Andre Brandon, Jayda Terry, and Ezekiel Pinks. In addition to her two living brothers, John (Rae) Burns, and Lonzell "Sug" Burns. She will also leave behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, her son Cody Terry, and her daughter, Peggy, whom Pearl lost when she was a teenager. In addition, to her ex-husband Clarence Terry.

Psalms 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.”
