Payton's obituary

With deep sorrow and broken hearts, we share the passing of our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, Payton Charles Oestreich, age 27, on August 16, 2025.

Payton’s life was a beautiful example of kindness, generosity, and love. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together, making everyone feel valued and cared for. Always putting the needs of others before his own, he touched countless lives with his selflessness, warmth, and unwavering support. His presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his impact will be felt forever.

A graduate from Minnetonka High School  and a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State- Mankato in Construction Management.  Payton worked at Retail Construction Services, Inc.

He is survived by his loving parents, Richard and Sally Oestreich; his brother, Connor (Hannah) Oestreich; and his sister, Haley Oestreich along with many cherished relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Rosemary Patterson, and his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Kathleen Oestreich.

A service to celebrate Payton’s life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Drive, Excelsior, MN.  Visitation at 10am, Service at 11am with luncheon to follow. 

All are welcome to gather as we celebrate his life, grieve his loss, and remember the incredible person he was.

Though his time with us was far too short, Payton’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and unite us.
