My sweet story is about the very first time I met Pauline. I’d heard from the guys that Dave had someone special in his life. Then one summer day he opened the side gate to our backyard in Tacoma, bringing Pauline for us to meet. Well, of course, we all loved sweet, smiling Pauline immediately. But, my very vivid memory is of Dave, literally bursting with joy. I felt so honored to share that moment. Dave and Pauline were in love!!!  And, as we all know, theirs was a true and sustaining love, seen in the lives they lived and shared with Reegan, Jack, and James.

I just want you all to know that it was an absolute blessing working on your house this summer. I am so grateful that I got to have several conversations with Pauline while I was there. Both tough and light hearted, I appreciated her honesty and her great care. I love you all and pray for you as often as I think of you.

Pauline truly was one of a kind.  I feel so lucky to have known such an incredible, kind, loving, and fierce warrior, friend, teacher, mom, wife, coach, and person. The world is absolutely better because of her and she will be so missed. We are so sorry for your loss.
