Background
Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee was Pauline’s favorite charity. It’s mission; to care for children facing catastrophic illness regardless of race, religion, or financial status is exemplary of the kind of unconditional love Pauline displayed to everyone in her life .
In 1995 Pauline’s fourth grandchild and second granddaughter Jaime Buie was born with underdeveloped lungs and stayed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 30 days. This life changing event solidified Pauline’s commitment to the mission of pediatric care and thus her love for the Saint. Jude hospital was born.
