High School Graduation

Although Paula and I haven't seen a lot of each other after she moved out of Ohio, I've always considered her my best friend.  Paula invited me to sit with her at lunch on my 2nd day at Gahanna Lincoln in our sophomore year, and we were best friends since.  She made my high school days a blast!  She should've been a comedienne!  She was so funny!  I was extremely shy, and I told her about a month ago how much I appreciated her reaching out to me back then.  I am so glad I had the chance to thank her.  During that call, we reminisced a lot about the "good old days" and lamented on getting older.    Paula was my roommate in our first apartment on campus; we worked together at Gold Circle; and was my maid of honor at my 1st wedding.  She and Ken are dear friends for life.  I am heartbroken that she is gone.  My prayers are with Ken, Kyle, Erin, and the rest of her family.  I am especially sad about what her grandbabies will miss.  I can only imagine how she made them laugh, and Kate looks just like her!  Love and Prayers!

In February of 2021, the power grid in Texas failed during a bitter cold spell, Paula, Ken, Kyle, Erin, Liam and Kate camped out at our place. They had no power for several days. At least we had intermittent power. So we invited them to share our home.

When the heat couldn’t work, we kept the gas fireplace going. The twins were quite young and when they came to our door, their little noses and cheeks were bright red from the cold! We made a big bed with pillows and cushions and blankets to keep them from crawling around when everyone was sleeping. Paula and I cooked meals as fast as we could whenever the power came on and everyone would get back under blankets when the electricity was out and rest up for the next chance to do laundry or cook.

Paula and Ken, my husband, Rupert and I found our friendship grow from that strange event. There’s not enough time in day-to-day life to get to know people. It was sort of like we took a camping vacation together! And, those babies! So sweet and darling, we’re so obviously the apple of Paula & Ken’s eyes! We will always remember that time.

Everyone stayed calm and helpful. Paula kept us laughing!

I loved being with Paula at Kyle and Erin's wedding. It was such a joy to share all the love during that joyous event. I know Kyle has a wonderful relationship with his parents. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. I am grateful to have been apart of her presence. Many sympathies.

We love you the most and miss you forever!

Paula was a great lady .  I'll miss her calling me Barney from time to time. And her  and my mom are now watching over all of with the rest of our families in heaven.
