Just learned of Paul's passing and I want to extend my sincere condolences. I met Paul at Latton's Kiddie Land when I worked there starting in 1956. We were not co-workers but he would stop by to visit with Lee and Frances and would help Lee with tapes for the carousel music and other sound issues. I didn't see him for many years after that until I saw him at the Garland Theater. I was quite surprised when he walked out prior to the movie and welcomed everyone and gave a brief synopsis of the movie and the plans for the Garland going forward. We had a good talk in the lobby afterward. My next contact with Paul was about 10 years ago when he digitized some 8 mm film for me. We had a great conversation about working for the Latton's and many other interesting things from the past. I feel sad today and regret that We did not have more visits.
Very sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. I worked with him at the Garland Theater in the late 60’s. Years later, my son also worked with him at the Garland. Paul had so many stories to share & it was joy listening to him tell them. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
Paul was a great friend to me and to the Looff Carousel. He shared his music for carousels to use in their operations. I often used his the video's he produced to talk about the history of Spokane's Carousel. I gave him updates on the Latton Merry-Go-Round which has been restored and is operating in Story Book Land, Rapid City, SD. He had a very creative streak and we all have been beneficiaries of his legacy.
I'm so sorry for your loss Dan & Karen. Paul was always amazing throughout the years. He had an amazing sense of humor, sure gonna miss that. Love you guys!
