I just loved him dearly. We connected at the heart and worked to mature humanity every moment of every day. I stand taller because I stand on his shoulders.

His is a wonderful story. Little did I think that the guy I played tackle football with, did baseball drills, learned to throw a curveball with, went to YMCA summer camp with, etc, etc in grade 8 public school in Millgrove village, Ontario, Canada would become the person he became. He was a great pal and we had so much fun.
We met again in Denver during an Aspen ski trip in the 70's, same great Paul, same wonderful person.
Knew his parents, Hugo and his mom and older brother Alex.
We were blessed to have known him and the world was a better place through his presence.

I always admired Paul's vision and drive on international development and entrepreneurship in Africa, SE Asia, and India. His optimism was relentless and refreshing!
He predicted the rise of upward mobility and purchasing power in India before it was a trendy talking point!
Paul's positive spirit, keen predictions, and ideas mattered to so many people, myself included.
He worked tirelessly, throughout his life, to raise awareness and garner support for countless voices and families around the world!
Paul made the world a better place. We're all better people for having met this outstanding gentleman! Thank you, sir.

In response to "What did you learn from Paul?"

I just want to say I appreciate being reminded of Paul's death. He was one of the people I have loved the most in this life and I miss him...and humanity misses him. I am launching a movement to have common good investing be the next layer of maturity of investing after ESG investing, investing that gives priority to the common good because as members of a human society we have all agreed to give priority to the common good. Paul would be enthusiastically on board with me in doing this and I feel him at my back.

I met Paul on a bus at the Aspen Design summit in 2006. It was love at first sight. This remarkable man changed my worldview of poverty and how to design lasting change.

This elderly guy spoke at this circle of 30 people. I immediately said to myself, "Who the hell is this man? I have to get to know him!" We had lunch together and bonded like I have bonded with few people in my life. I had a similar bonding with Bob Swann, the leader of the nonviolent movements in the USA in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Bob and I met in 1974. We put together one of the first set of social screens for investing the led to them being used to launch the Calvert Funds, the first family of socially responsible mutual funds in 1982 and now this asset class is the fastest growing asset class in the world. I got some funding for Paul's projects in India from Calvert and dreamed of his clean water for villages expanding around the world. If he had lived, it would have eventually happened. I was committed to be with him until it did. Paul was to me like Bob Swann was to me, and elder who taught me all they knew. I am deeply appreciative. And I can't believe it is already three years since his death. Thank you Paul.
