Just heard about Paul, worked with him at Fluor for long time, so sad to hear.  He was my buddy and will always remember his fun personality.  Rest in peace my old friend.
This was not fun we had with Paul, but fun Paul’s gift gave my son.

I am Sheila Stiffler, granddaughter of Jim and Rosemary Webb. I am their son Jim’s oldest daughter and my youngest son Matthew was thought of by Paul lots. It’s so funny, because Matthew is a very high strung, cute, lovable, and a giving child. Paul always said,” Matthew is adorable and reminds me of me. Anyway, Paul gave Matthew $5 for his birthday one year, and a $1 here or there for helping him, even though Matthew always said, it’s ok, I helped you, because you needed it.

When I told Paul he didn’t need to do that, he always said, it’s ok, Matthew is a great kid! The one thing that he gave to Matthew that Matthew still has today are his Flyers. On Matthew’s 7th or 8th birthday Paul gave Matthew a present that put a huge smile on his face that day and everyday that he shoots them through the air. The day we found out Paul had left earth to go to heaven we told Matthew, and he went into his room for a minute. He took out his Flyers, turned the led light on them and started shooting them in the air. This is for Paul, he said! One got stuck on the roof of our complex and he said,” mom, maybe it’s supposed to stay up there, so Paul can see it. He never got it back, it just disappeared!, but he still has the others.

Art and I were new at the church appx 10 years ago. As we were exiting the service, Paul reached out to us and introduce himself and welcomed us with open arms. We didn’t have much time after service due to a line of people waiting to greet Paul. We noticed that line EVERY Sunday thereafter. That told us a lot about him. But we really got to know him while attending our first Lords Church picnic. When my husband and I arrived, we didn’t know anyone so we were asked to come sit with the Pastor and his family (talk about awkward, (being new and with the “Pastors...?? OMG!” So I guess Paul saw we were looking lost and uncomfortable and therefore asked us to come sit with his family. Don’t get me wrong, we love the Pastors and his family especially now that we know them but being new at a church and being asked to sit with royalty per say can be a little uneasy. So Paul sensed that. Lol. We joined Paul’s family. He kicked his sister Maxine off the family table and made room for Art and me. I thought that was hilarious. We knew then he had an awesome sense of humor. We got to know one another and he and his entire family were so warm and inviting. We shared stories of our lives and how we came to The Lords church... He was such a loving, sweet spirited, kind hearted and gentle giant. And since then, EVERY Sunday Art and I joined that line waiting to greet, hug and love on Paul. Awesome man of God!!! Will definitely be missed!!!!
While in our early 20’s, Paul decided that we would go on a road trip to San Simeon. Well because I had my X/19 we had to take it. My first and only speeding ticket. What a great and fun trip. Miss you my friend, Max Redmon
Seeing Paul & Patti’s wedding picture really hit a cord. Paul was a huge example of what it is to be a man, a husband and a teacher. When Paul was maybe 20 years old, he would volunteer to swing by my house to make sure I made his Sunday school class. A few years later he would take Gil, Mike and me to his work in order to show us plans he was adding drainage to. In the strength of his youth and the weakness of his aging body, Paul always looked to help others in practical and spiritual ways. I was truly blessed to call him my friend. Patti you and all the Padilla family will be in my prayers. Much Love, Chris
What a legacy Uncle Paul left. Always concerned about the sick, friends, and family...and as usual, he brought his corkiness into the conversations. We always looked forward to the side jokes, new show summaries, or funny stories that Uncle Paul would bring into gatherings or group text messaging. And we just knew he loved the Lord always through each blessing and hurdle. We will miss him dearly and know his legacy will live on to lead others to Christ. We will miss you Uncle Paul. Auntie Pattie, Chrissy, and Cody, we are so very sorry for your loss. We love you.
I always looked forward to Paul being at our family dinners. He would tell stories that brought a smile to our face and kept us laughing! As he would say the blessing at dinner he would insert a little humor too! From nostalgia, stories of driving down Whittier Blvd and tales of pranks he had pulled as a kid, he kept us all entertained.
On a more serious note I very much admired the way he ministered to the less fortunate, elderly, and those who were hospitalized. What dedication! He will be missed!
In our thoughts Paul and Patty:
Thank you for the gift of your beautiful daughter to our life and family. Chrissy is the true embodiment of the love, confidence, faith and joy for life that you demonstrated over the years. She is a fantastic legacy of a devoted father.
Rest in Peace.
