Paul's obituary
Paul Andrew Olson, age 80 entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 23, 2022. Visitation and the funeral will be held at The Mission Church, 12001 Ridgemont Dr, Urbandale, IA., where he and his wife are members. Visitation is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. on Friday, January 6, 2023 and The Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
He was born November 7, 1942 to parents George and Jessie Olson in Roseau, MN. He later moved to Crookston, MN where he graduated from Crookston High School.
He married his wife, Peg Womacks on June 26, 1965 and they enjoyed 57 years together. He worked at Presto X Company until he retired. He enjoyed playing hockey, as well as buying and selling antiques. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling. Paul also loved his church and over the years has been active there. He was always available to help family and friends.
Paul was diagnosed with Alzheimers in August 2019 and he passed away at the Johnston Hospice. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Peg, son Philip (Amanda) Olson, daughters Pam Heintzleman, and Polly (Jason) Noble, grandchildren Ethan and Cora Olson, Melanie, Ayla and Drew Heintzleman and Caleb, Micah, Josiah and Moses Noble. Sister Judi (James) Sandstrom, brother Sidney (Susan) Olson and many nephews and nieces. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, William and Lily Hites and Andrew and Nellie Olson, brother and his wife David and Missy Olson, and two nephews Joshua Olson and Ryan Sandstrom.
