Paul's obituary
Paul Benjamin Lewis, Jr, 69, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on January 16, 2021.
Paul was born on August 22, 1949 to Paul and Anne Lewis. Paul spent his time as child pitching baseball, building elaborate forts with his friends and being a jokester (which he never grew out of.) After High School, he excelled as a sales person for commercial supply companies. He earned many awards and bonuses throughout his career. He retired in 2008 after decades in the industry.
Paul was a mountain of a man in size, personality, passion and humor. He loved fishing, being outdoors, Jimi Hendrix and his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his daughters, granddaughters or friends. Paul loved to tinker and fix things. He was a handy man and figured out most things he put his mind to. Paul loved seafood. He could eat Maryland blue crabs for hours and loved Oyster Roasts! He often visited his best friends; Randy Warden and Phil Triffy in Ocean City, Maryland. Paul was happiest on the beaches of Assateague Island surfcasting for rockfish.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Paul and Anne; and best friends Randy Warden and Dennis McGowen. He is survived by his daughters; Danielle Buchanan and Kristen Lewis. His granddaughters Jenna Buchanan and Lillian Taylor loved “Pop Pop” more than anything. Paul’s son in law, Randy, enjoyed fishing and grilling with him. Paul had many friends and cousins who loved him.
Paul’s sister, Susan Lewis, has passed since his death. Paul and Susan had a wonderful relationship and looked out for each other through each walk of life. The family believes they are now reunited and happy.
A celebration of life was held for Paul B. Lewis, Jr in Solomon’s Island, Maryland on August 22, 2021. This would have been his 70th birthday. A formal service for Paul was hindered due to Covid restrictions during the time of his passing. His family and friends continue to memorialize and honor him in daily life.
