Paul's obituary

Paul Edward Lenihan, age 65, of Burke, Virginia transitioned from this life into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026.

Paul was born in Miami, Florida to John and Inez Lenihan, and was the youngest of six children (Joan Krishon, Carol Casey, Margaret “Peggy” Hart, Kathy Killian, and Mary “Mimi” Carlton). After graduating high school, Paul traveled to Germany before starting his career. In early 1982, Paul traveled to Washington D.C., where he met Karen Peterson. The two married in December of 1982 and settled in Burke, Virginia where they built a beautiful family and created countless memories over their 43 years of marriage.

Paul found his professional calling in the television production industry and built an impressive portfolio of work, as well as an extensive network of clients, coworkers and friends.

Throughout his life, Paul was known for his sense of humor, warm and welcoming presence, strong work ethic, fiery spirit, and dedication to his family and friends. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his four grandchildren, fishing in the Everglades, camping with his family, spending time on the beach, bartending for family and friends, laughing and telling stories.

Paul is survived by his wife, Karen Lenihan, and his two daughters, Grace McIntosh (Everleigh and Breah) and Morgan Iskrzak (m. Kevin Iskrzak, Brayden and Shay). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Inez Lenihan, and his sister, Joan Krishon.

A Funeral Service and Celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2026 at 12:30pm at Nativity Catholic Church (6400 Nativity Lane, Burke, VA 22015), followed by a celebration of life at The Auld Shebeen (3971 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030).
