Paul's obituary

Husband, father, brother and dear friend, Paul W. Laperle’s love of God and others didn’t come to an end with his passing. Paul passed away at 11:00 am on January 14, 2023 at the age of 74 and less than 2 weeks shy of his 75th Birthday, January 27, 1948, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives cherishing all of God’s precious gifts.

Paul Laperle loved the Lord. Everything he did was to honor his Heavenly Father. Whether building his own carpentry business, serving in church or his family and friends, he honored his commitments and was loyal to his word. If Paul said he’d do something, nobody would question if it would get done. His loyalty, respect and love for others shined.

One of his favorite ways to show his love was through food. Bacon! Yes, bacon was Paul’s pure earthly idea of heavenly ecstasy. I’m not sure how it works in heaven but I’m sure there must be bacon there. Paul loved experimenting with food and serving new and improved creations to those he loved. Although bacon was his favorite, he always put others first. He’d make special meals, pastries and cakes that catered to each person’s taste or diet. His love and desire to honor those around him never went unnoticed.

Paul battled cancer the last year of life. He fought cancer with the same honor, dignity, strength, commitment and loyalty he lived his life. This last year he celebrated his 50th year anniversary with wife, Dorothea Dano (Pence) Laperle with both the pride of a peacock and the humility of a lamb. He is survived, remembered and honored by his brother Ivan Laperle, his daughter Heather Gardikis and spouse Jon, daughter Sabrina Young and spouse Jimmy and son Loren Laperle and his significant other Dulce Granados as well as his grandchildren, Ashly Gardikis, Tori Gardikis, Trinity Gardikis, Jozzy Gardikis, Joshua Young, Celso Laperle, Alexandria Lopez and Briesayas Lopez. Paul will be remembered by his family for giving all he had especially with his time and attention.

Paul Laperle committed his last days on earth to making sure that each and every life he touched knew how special and loved they were by him and his heavenly Father. Whether you were a complete stranger, family or friend he did not miss the opportunity to make you smile. The jokester in him continued to bring smiles and loving moments to all that spent time with him. He will be genuinely missed by many.

We know it to be true that “...if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Paul Laperle’s celebration of life will be on February 11, 2023 at 10:30 am. The service will be delivered by Bob Metcalf at Mission Church 6555 South State Hwy 69, Mayer, AZ 86333. We would be honored by your presence as we celebrate Paul Laperle’s life and legacy.
