Paul's obituary

Mr. Paul Oscar LaGasse, of Royal Oak, Michigan, born on June 17, 1931 in Royal Oak, Michigan, to the late June LaGasse and the late Oscar Felix LaGasse, passed away at age 86 on June 2, 2018 in Canyon Country, California. In his young life, Paul worked with the Navy Intelligence for a short time. Paul attended Claremont Graduate school, earning an MBA. He was the General Sales Manager at KPOL AM/FM Los Angeles, Broadcasting Capital Cities, now owned by ABC, and retired in 1984. Paul married his spouse of 40 years, Larissa Alexandrina Zbytniuk, in 1979. Paul is survived by his wife Larissa, his son, Rick; daughters, Susan Floom, Lorrie Kueffer, Bonnie Loparo, and Diane Sampson, children from his first marriage to Gloria Watrous LaGasse; sisters, Alice Fitzpatrick and Bonnie King; grandchildren, Sarah Glavin, Jimmy Glavin, Christopher Ponzi, Eli Floom, Jennifer Loparo, Alison Loparo, Brandon Fix, and Taylor Fix; step grandchildren Jim Loutherback, Sherene LaGasse Gardiner, James Bowes and great-grandchildren, Reece Adelman and Savvy Adelman. He and Larissa also had a foster family, Erica S. Perez and her 3 daughters. He rescued and was passionate about his 4 Neopolitan Mastiff dogs, the last one was 9 year old Legere who preceeded him in passing. Paul was a man of many paradoxes, at a very early age he was formed by music and intellectual curiosity, a naturally gifted leader, inspirational teacher who helped people realize their inner voice. He was a pure jazz pianist. He was Catholic but had the soul of a mystic, a sensitivity, beauty and elegance beyond compare. What brings this together is his heavenly harmonies on the piano. The loud stillness expressed by his soul is felt at the deepest level even when his fingers leave the ivory keys. He gave people hope, love, kindness, listened to their troubles and lifted them higher. The Lord has taken him home to rest in peace.
