Paul's obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Amy Hsieh; and children Cara Jang, Erna Wong, Ted Hsieh and Michael Hsieh. Paul Hsieh has 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Paul was born October 1927, and raised in Taiwan. He served in the military. He married Amy (Chang) Hsieh in 1952. After he graduated from National Taiwan University, he went to America to pursue advanced studies. He obtained Ph.D. in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. Paul worked many years in the aerospace industry until his retirement.
He wrote Sweet Potato, “A dramatized historical novel of Taiwan, “Sweet Potato,” a name coined by Taiwanese from the shape of their island.”
