Paul was president of his 1969 High School Class.  After graduation from High School he was accepted into the U.S. Air Force Academy, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He wanted to become a pilot but because of not having perfect vision he was unable to become a pilot.  He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a masters in Business and Finance.  He worked as the CEO of a manufacturing business (MEI) for 20 years before working in Commercial Real Estate Sales for the remainder of his career.

Paul had many interests.  He was passionate about the outdoors, especially Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.  He especially loved Cedar Grove for camping.  Paul  was an avid fly fisherman like his father and grandfather.  Taking many fishing trips to Kodiak Island in Alaska and Labrador, Canada.  Paul also loved ballroom dancing, Broadway Plays and Musicals, concerts, and was an avid antiques collector.

A fond memory of his sisters was of them sitting back to back while watching TV so Frankenstein an the Mummy couldn't sneak up on them from behind!

Paul is preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher Paul Honkavaara.  He is survived by his sister, Katherine Marck of Santa Fe, NM.  Daughters Christine Honkavaara of Hartford, Wisconsin, and Jenni Blomberg/Jon and granddaughter Lily Blomberg of Georgia.  Paul leaves behind and will be dearly missed by his devoted girl friend Jan, and best friend, Paul Schroeder.

We take comfort in knowing he now rests in the presence of his Savior.  Paul lived life fully and wholeheartedly, In our sorrow we trust that the same God who gave Paul his vibrant spirit now holds him in a promise of hope and eternal peace.   A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
