Rick's obituary
We mourn the loss of Paul "Rick" Hicks II, a gentle and caring soul, who left us too soon on May 31, 2025. Born on June 6, 1974 Paul, also known as Rick, lived a life full of love, kindness, and selfless acts. His buoyant personality was one that attracted and warmed many, but he preferred an intimate circle of close friends and family, which he treasured above all else.
Survived by his wife, Kayli Hicks, whom he married in 2016, Paul cherished every moment they spent together. Whether dining on Chinese food, Mexican cuisine, or even Burger King, every meal was an occasion for the couple.
Paul held his family close to his heart and is survived by his parents: mother June Bandy, step-father Butch Bandy, father Rick Hicks, and step-mother Martha Hicks. He recently reconnected with his daughter Brittany Hicks and was so excited to have her back in his life. He was an adored brother to sisters Judy Lynn Leigh, Mary Williams, Paula Hicks, Debra Hicks, and brothers Robert Hicks and William Hicks. Paul also held great affection for his fur baby , Gracie Marie.
His love of life radiated in his favorite activities. Whether passionately jamming to music by Korn, enjoying a game of slots or an engaging shooting game, or anticipating the weather patterns, Paul found beauty in the everyday aspects of life. However, nothing could surpass the joy he found in spending time with his best friends, Stella and Jordan.
Kind, caring, and selfless are words that best describe Paul’s personality. His favorite color, blue, embodied his depth, wisdom, and peace. He had a great passion for his family and made it his life's cause to cherish and protect them. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled. We hope he knew how deeply he was loved and cherished by his family and friends.
Paul's memory will forever be engraved in our hearts. He was a beacon of love and kindness, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace.
