Paul's obituary
Paul Herbert Davis, of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (formerly Crockett, CA), passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2025, after a life rich in love, purpose, and generosity.
Paul was a wonderful, kind, and giving man, known for his unwavering loyalty, deep faith, and boundless altruism. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Paul’s life was centered around family, faith, friendship, and lifting up those around him. He always saw the best in people and was steadfast in his belief in the goodness of others.
Paul began his career as a marine biologist in Mayaguez Puerto Rico. There he met the love of his life, Billie Davis, and they were married 2 years later. He continued his work in marine ecology before venturing into the oyster business at Odella’s Oyster and Champagne Bar. His entrepreneurial spirit soon blossomed into multiple ventures across the wine, insurance, and health and fitness industries. A lifelong learner, Paul was passionate about continuing his education, frequently taking online courses to expand his knowledge and support the causes he cared about.
For 25 years, Paul called Crockett, California home, building a life full of family, friendship, and service before moving to San Miguel Dr Allende, Mexico, where he found joy and meaning in a new culture and faith community.
Paul was deeply committed to his community. In Crockett, he played an active role in the John Swett Education Foundation and the Band Boosters for the high school marching band. He and Billie were always quick to volunteer for local events, bringing their energy, warmth, and generosity to every gathering. During his years in the Bay Area, Paul served as a lead usher at Community Alliance Church in Richmond, California. After relocating to San Miguel de Allende, he became a vital part of the Community Church of San Miguel, where he joined the committee dedicated to growing the church and its impact in the community.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Billie Davis; his daughter, Brooke Davis; his son, Tyler Davis; and his sisters, Cheryl Graves, Nancy Bodinson, and Martha Davis. He is also survived by his two beloved dogs, Hunter and Buster, along with a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
His life was a testament to kindness, curiosity, service, and faith — and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross, whose ambulance service granted his family and friends an additional two precious weeks with Paul before his passing.
