Paul and I met when we were both seventeen. So, other than his three sisters, I suppose I've known him longer than anyone. Neither of us had a brother, so I guess we were brothers. Roommates in college. We traded "bestman" duties at our weddings. He ended up in San Miguel because of me. There were a few periods when the distance was too great and we were apart; but not so much.

All said, I miss you and, of course I wish you safe travels on your new journey.  Hey...I published my book, just this week and your spirit is tucked into it in lots of ways...Fair sailin' bro.

I think it was 2005 or 2006 that Paul and I were working at the Sears Point Raceway concession stand in Sonoma CA. Other Band Boosters and band members from JSHS had been there all day starting around 6:00AM. We were all pretty tired walking back to the dirt parking lot where we found Paul’s car with a flat tire! I offered to help him change the tire but he said “no”, smiling…”the kids can do it, it will be a good experience for them “. An example of him turning lemons into lemonade.

Cheryl, Mel, and Alex Jordan  first got to know Paul through Billie and their association  with an annual fund raiser for their school district.   We built a brief friendship before retirement and their move to Mexico. Billie, we are sorry for your loss.  We are glad Paul enjoyed living retirement in Mexico.
Billie, we offer our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

It was Hunter and Buster who first brought us together. We met Billie and Paul in their beautiful home in San Miguel de Allende and have felt truly fortunate ever since to have known them both.

We will never forget Paul: his warm, welcoming smile, his curious and engaged mind, and above all, the way he looked at Billie, full of love and admiration.

When we returned to San Miguel last fall, we were grateful to have the chance to see them again — a memory we will always hold dear.

Rest in peace, dear Paul.

And to you, Billie — we love you.

Our most heartfelt condolences,Wiebke & Boris

Please accept our condolences.

Paul’s smile always lit up the room. He was such a kind and caring person and I always walked away encouraged after every conversation.

He enriched the lives of his friends and colleagues.

At least I know he is home with his Savior.

It seems so briefly that we knew Paul and Billie but it was time well spent. We will miss him and send our deepest condolences to the whole family.
Paul and I worked together in the 70s at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory doing marine research in Santa Barbara and the Marshall Islands.  He was a hard working,, intelligent and kind.  Never a cross word between us.  We had some great times and discovered some interesting things.  My best to Billie and his family and friends.
Paul was a great friend and a truly kind and gentle man.  I will miss him.
While I had met Paul briefly, and did not know him well, I do know that when Billie would speak of Paul, she would light up and have a big smile on her face. While speaking of Paul, she always spoke of him with respect and love.  He will be missed. 💕
I knew Paul starting in 1969, his pre-Billie days. He would stay at our house on the weekends he had National Guard duty to make the commute be less. Over the years, he and Billie became an integral  part of our social group. Many many adventures were had! I will mostly miss his smiling, ever sparkling eyes but I have many fond memories to fall back on. He is very much missed… the world has lost a fantastic human being!

Clearly a pillar of our community in years past, Paul was a tireless volunteer in Crockett always giving his all especially with our youth. We had the fortune of Paul handling finances for our local JSEF, John Sweet Education Foundation. He and Billie did a magnificent job in the years I was with the organization. Never complaining of the nearly endless detail his job required and delivering a job well done with his infectious smile, enthusiasm and expertise.  Crockett became an even better place because of Paul and we'll never forget his many contributions.
