Paul's obituary
Paul Griffin passed away unexpectedly at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on January 25, 2026, at the age of 67. Though he was living in Louisiana at the time of his passing, Paul’s roots and heart were always in Arkansas, where he was born and raised in Lewisville.
Paul was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, and a man whose life was grounded in faith. He loved Jesus deeply and lived out his beliefs through kindness, generosity, and compassion for others. There was never a person he wouldn’t help—Paul would give the last of what he had to anyone in need. Though he was often overlooked or forgotten by many, those who truly knew him understood the depth of his goodness and the size of his heart.
Paul was the proud father of his daughter, Keri Loo, and his son, Steven Rateliff, and a loving grandfather to numerous grandchildren. He also raised two sons as his own—Cameron Ward and Farrin Rateliff—who knew him simply and truly as “Dad.”
The love of Paul’s life was his wife, Bonnie, who preceded him in death in 2014. Their bond was enduring, and he carried her with him always.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. He is survived by one sister and one niece, along with his children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched through his generosity and spirit.
In his quieter moments, Paul found joy in simple pleasures—playing dominoes, listening to music, strumming his banjo and guitar, shooting guns, and taking long drives. When he was younger and able, he loved swimming, spending time at the lake, and being outdoors.
Paul Griffin was a genuinely good man. His legacy is one of faith, love, and selflessness, and he will be deeply missed.
