Paul Steven Coonce, 76, of Las Vegas, NV, bought his ticket and took a downtown train out of Las Vegas on September 3rd, 2023 at 5:42pm. While surely taking the scenic route, he was eventually reunited with his loved ones, who were joyously awaiting his arrival. Paul was born November 4, 1946 in San Bernardino County, California to parents Lewis Ross Coonce and Phyllis Carpenter. Paul was a Veteran for the United States Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam, where he learned to drive military utility trucks. After Vietnam, Paul married Edith Helen Snedegar on June 13, 1970 in Mentone, California. They had two children, Paul Steven Jr. and Pattie Catherine. Paul lived the majority of his life in Southern California, particularly Carlsbad and Temecula, and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada the latter part of his life. Paul was a commercial truck driver for over 30 years and was an exceptional map reader from traveling destinations for work; he knew every interstate, highway, and landmark in the United States. He was a bachelor for nearly 45 years after his divorce but never missed a weekend visiting his two children. Paul was a jokester at heart, and quick witted. He was an avid coin collector, loved locomotive trains, and traveling up the Pacific West Coast. His favorite place to visit was Lake Tahoe because of the majestic trees, greenery, and crystal clear Alpine lake. Paul religiously watched football and cheered for the Seattle Seahawks. He will be deeply missed by his two children, son, Paul Steven Coonce Jr (48) of Murrieta, CA and, daughter, Pattie Catherine Coonce-Garner (45) of Las Vegas, NV. Paul Steven Coonce Sr was preceded in death by his father and mother Ross and Phyllis Coonce, half brother and sister, Donald Tallent and Patricia Kelley. He will be laid to rest in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, Nevada located outside of Las Vegas.
