Paul's obituary
Dr. Paul R. Bacon, D.C. of Rye, NH passed away on January 3rd, 2022, after an intense six month battle with cancer.
Paul grew up in Sanford, ME with his parents John and Jeanette Bacon and eleven beloved siblings. After serving in the Navy in Vietnam, he studied Chiropractic Medicine at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
After Iowa, Paul relocated to Portsmouth, NH with his then wife Helen, and their two children. Paul opened his Chiropractic clinic on Edmond Avenue and practiced continuously in this location for over forty years, until his retirement in September of 2021. Paul was a pillar of the Chiropractic community and a pioneer in the field, always striving to advance the science and create more effective therapies. He was also a brilliant inventor who created tools and exercise systems that have helped to improve people's health and lives and that will continue to be used by Chiropractors and patients into the future.
Paul was a devoted healer and a very spiritually active person. He was a lifelong meditator and was active in several spiritual communities throughout his life. He was a sensitive soul who cared so very deeply for his children, his wife Deborah, his mother and all his siblings, nieces, nephews and their children, as well as for the many patients and friends whose lives he touched along the way.
The fact that his death came sooner than anyone expected, coupled with ongoing public health concerns, has made it difficult to honor him with a celebration of life that he so greatly deserves. We hope that sometime in the Spring, when people can gather more safely in an outdoor setting, we will be able to arrange a celebration of life for him, so that the many people whose lives he touched will be able to honor him and celebrate his life and work.
He is survived by his siblings Maurice, Terry, James, Reinette, Rita, Claudette, Judy, Rachel, his two children Jessica Bacon and Aaron Bacon, and his wife Deborah Arzt.
