Jessica and Aaron and family,
I was sad to hear about Dr. B's passing. I have many fond memories of him, as I worked as his director of finance for 4 years. I had been out of the office setting for many years when I applied for the job, but I did have a lot of previous experience in the finance world and Dr. B. decided to take a chance on me and hired me right away. Well Dr. B - I wouldn't be where I am today if you didn't take that chance, and I thank you for that. I will forever be grateful to you!
I learned so much from him, more than I could ever write on this memorial page.
One funny memory I would like to share; Dr. B decided to participate in a chiropractic trade show at, I think it was, the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. He, myself and Sylvia, (our x-ray tech), packed up the car and headed towards upstate NY. I was excited to go because I had never been to a casino before, I rarely had an opportunity to get out of town, and I was looking forward to having some fun with Dr. B and Sylvia (they were fund to hang with!) It was a long ride to the casino but once we got there and checked in Dr. B. asked the concierge where the bar was, because once we put everything in our room we wanted to enjoy a drink to unwind. Well, no one told Dr. B. the trade show was being held at a "dry" casino! OMG....we were horrified! We were told by the staff that we could bring our own liquor into the facility. As soon as we found out this fact, with lightening speed, we got into the car and headed to the closest liquor store to purchase many bottles of wine to have for the weekend! It was a fun weekend which I enjoyed very much and will always remember.
Dr. B. could be a tough cookie, but he also had a heart of gold and I will never forget him. I always thought he would outlive most of us, so this was a complete shock to me. Our world has lost a wonderful being, but the afterworld will definitely be a brighter place with him in it.
My sincere condolences to your entire family. May his soul find rest.
Love and peace to you all,
Lisa Santomango
