Patsy's obituary
Patsy Serrao, 64, was unexpectedly called home to Heaven on March 17, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her more than words can express.
Patsy was born on December 25, 1961, in Oakland, California. She spent most of her life in the Bay Area, including many years in Castro Valley, where she built a life centered around her family. In 2022, she moved to Texas to be closer to her oldest son, Zachary, and her grandchildren, something that brought her so much happiness.
Patsy was truly one of a kind. She was loving, funny, full of life, compassionate and incredibly strong. She was the heart of her family, the one who made everything feel lighter, warmer, and full of love. There was nothing she wouldn’t have done for her children. Known to many as “Sassy Patsy,” she had a personality that lit up every room. She brought laughter, comfort, and joy to everyone she met. Whether it was through her sense of humor or simply the way she showed up for people, she made others feel seen and loved.
She worked as a Cashier at Costco, where her warmth and friendliness left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. More than anything, she was a devoted mom, a proud Grammy, and a loyal friend.
Patsy found joy in the little things - dancing, spending time with her dog Suzie, Jelly Belly candies in her pocket at any given time, and collecting her beloved mushroom knick-knacks. Those small things meant a lot to her, and they perfectly reflected her fun and vibrant spirit.
She is survived by her three children, Zachary, Jacob, and Jamie; her daughter-in-law, Ashley; and her cherished grandchildren. She is reunited in Heaven with many loved ones, including her husband, Douglas Serrao; her father, Gerald Lemos; her mother, Patricia Smith; her sister, Betty; and her brothers, Frank and Jerry.
