Patsy's obituary
Patsy was born in Dallas, TX to Fred B. Shelton and Frances Sears Shelton on November 10, 1951. She attended Highland Park High School, where she was a Lassie and continued her education at Texas Tech University. She grew up with a love for horses, barrel racing in her younger years. A teacher at heart, she loved assisting students in learning, and even outside of the classroom, was always looking for ways to help others grow in their skills and knowledge. She was a devoted mother to her children, spending many years in the “Patty Wagon” taking the troupe to every activity imaginable. She never missed an event, always catching every moment with her camera. Once an empty nester, she refocused her attention on her first love, her horses. In just a few short years she became a well known breeder the Reining Horse community, producing several award winning champions. She found a home in that community which she adored through her later years.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Kristin Shelton Schutz, Erin Leigh McGuire and husband Ryan John McGuire, son Westin Garrett Schutz, and her sister Suzi Shelton Scherer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathleen, and brother Fred.
Her Celebration of Life is postponed until current gathering restrictions have been lifted.
