Pat was a very dear friend of mine. We shared so many laughs together. We were 2 peas in a pod you might say. His daughter and mine are bestie friends to this day. One memory was when we did a road business trip from h.e.l.l. we had started off in Michigan, drove straight thru to Birmingham Alabama, Pat broke his wrist and had to get emergency surgery with pins. My buddy and I dropped him off, went to the bar and waited it out. He called and asked us to bring him a rum and coke. Went to McDonald's left a bit of room in the cup with ice, and retrieved a very happy man. This trip included every hooter restaurant on the way down, no sleep yet. Had to make a putstop on Walton beach florida, and then over to north Carolina. I almost forgot the incident in Tennesse on our way down. We had 7 axles on the bottom of 17 trailers as my memory serves me. Imagine the turn radius put lots of pressure on bottom trailer which required careful turns. Anyways I'm asleep in the back of a Chevy Tahoe mind you, heard a oh *-'k, got me up to look out the side window to see the stack of trailers next to us. Tongue basically bent in half. Yippee. 330 am. In a gas station. Evaluated. Made a call. Got it fixed. Back on the road by 6am. So we had a long trip just to Birmingham. Anyways outta there and onto ft. Walton Beach, and on to north Carolina. We made that stop and finally on our way home. I will never forget. I woke up in the back seat. Pat had his sunglasses on. Casted arm out the window and turned to look at me with the shit eating grin. I mean it was absolutely a twilight zone experience.
One of the best shenanigans partner a guy could ask for. Nothing but fun with Pat. So sorry to hear this.
