I got an email from Ever Loved asking me what the most fun was that I've ever had with my dad, and while these stories may seem silly, they are cathartic for me to share.Of course, sharing just one story of the MOST fun I've ever had with my dad would be entirely impossible. But, a few immediately came to mind.Dad used to tickle us with his beard. I remember laughing so hard it hurt. He gave us "horsey" rides around the house. I remember the way he danced on his toes, just a little bob up and down. We went to car shows together and took a ridiculous amount of photos of cars. One time, Elvira was at the car show, and I got her autograph. I was so star struck.Dad took me to my therapy appointments and taught me how to drive in the parking lot after the appointments. One day when it was getting dark early, he showed me how Wint-O-Green Lifesavers 'sparked' when you bite them, so we bit about a thousand Lifesavers (okay, I exaggerated). Dad taught me to drive a stick shift in a car that died every time you stopped. I thought it was me, but he told me that car dies whenever ANYONE stopped and we cheered once when I managed to stop without killing it. He said it was a near miracle. In 2009, the Saints had a particularly good year, and dad taught me and Sean about football and we watched games together. He got my son a Saints onesie, which was adorable. He also got him a Mannie's Beer onesie, which I thought was hysterical. In 2008 and early 2009, we started a ritual called "Startini Nights" where Dad would come over to watch Star Trek at our house and we'd have martinis. He started to wonder if I was pregnant when suddenly I stopped drinking the martinis and just had Gatorade, lol.In 1996, the Mariners were doing AMAZING so we started going to the games. I loved the fireworks whenever a home run was hit, and Dad would stand up and yell with me and laugh when I got confused and cheered for the wrong team. I don't know if any of these things were the MOST fun that I had with Dad, but they were amazing times, and just a very small part of what made me who I am. It's important to me to note that Dad chose me as his kid, and I will be forever grateful that there was never any doubt to him. I was his baby girl.
I don’t have a single favorite memory to share because there were years of them, too many to choose a single one. But I will say that some of the happiest memories of my life were with Patrick when we had our collective children with us. It was the little things for me; the way he never failed to tell me that the dinner I’d cooked was delicious, even if it was hamburger helper. He made sure to find music and videos he knew the kids or I would love. The horsey rides he gave the kids and how he would try his best to do the voices of the characters in books when he read the children’s bedtime stories. His shy, sweet and sensitive side was so appealing to me. And how he sometimes stood on the sides of his feet… a silly thing that I loved. Our many little drives to the mountains or lakes singing songs with the kids in the car. How after relentless encouragement (and maybe a little pressure) from me that he donned a Santa suit for our grandsons - that was so meaningful and memorable. And I will always remember his beautiful blue eyes that I could get lost in, like looking at the sky. ❤️

My all-time favorite dad memory was from when I was about 8-years-old (so mid-80's). Dad had just gotten a CD-player with surround sound. He positioned the speakers all around the living room and told us three older kids to come in and lie down, close our eyes, and just listen. He closed the curtains and made the room dark. We closed our eyes, and hear a bit of laughter, then a screeching of what sounded like a bird circling us. And, then we heard some of the most beautiful music we'd ever known.I'm pretty sure all of us kids list Pink Floyd as our favorite band, thanks to Dad.

Pat and I worked together for several years and turned out we lived 4-5 blocks from one another in Bothell.  Pat was a great friend and co-worker. We retired close to the same time and I assumed he was moving back to New Orleans.  I was shocked to hear of his Passing. Rest in peace my friend. Tim

This might be my favorite picture of me with Dad. The year is a guess, but I believe it's about right. — with Rachel Waldron and Patrick Isbell
Sorry for your loss to the family. Izzy was a character for sure and a good friend. Had alot of good laughs through the past 15 or so years. I will miss his sense of humor. He was always telling funny stories about some of his grandsons. He loved his kids and was very proud of them. Pat R.

Izzy was always everyone's friend, but to me he was more like the brother I never had . In the twenty some years that we knew each other, we took several trips together. Izzy was always up for an adventure, and his laid-back demeanor, curiosity, sense of humor, and positiviy made him the perfect travel companion.

Our most memorable trek was one that we dubbed " The UFO Tour ", which was very similar to the one depicted in the buddy road trip scifi comedy " Paul " starring Simon Pegg. We visited Roswell, NM, White Sands, the giant meteor crater in Arizona, and the infamous Area 51 .

What a trip it's been knowing you, Izzy . Someday we'll meet again on the other side, my friend.  RIP

I had the pleasure to have worked with Izzy in the beverage business in Seattle.  He was most excellent at his job and a great help to me and many others.  He will be missed but not soon forgotten by the people he touched.  Thank you Pat, for sharing your interests in some great sci fi that you passed on to me over the years.  Rest in peace buddy.  Got a special place in my heart you will stay till we meet again.
