Patrick Gorman Darby

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Gorman Darby, a man whose love for life knew no bounds, leaving us suddenly and far too soon. At the age of 67, Patrick passed away peacefully at his home in the country in Heath, OH on April 02, 2024 from natural causes.

Patrick G. Darby, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many was born in Akron, OH on March 9, 1957 into a joyful and very loving Darby family that instilled in him a deep love for God, his family, and his Irish heritage. A trait that he wore proudly like a badge of honor. He spent his childhood years growing up in Goodyear Heights, and graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Patrick was a kind soul and brought joy to everyone around him, and he made the world a brighter place simply by being in it. Pat had the ability to make friends everywhere he went, and had the most unique and infectious laughter. He loved the simple joys of life. Whether it was sitting by the campfire with family & friends, singing along to his favorite songs, or entertaining the people he loved, Pat led a simple life and was always grateful. Camping with his family, was a deep rooted tradition that brought him joy and happiness. Throughout his life, Patrick was happy, laughed easily, was a great storyteller, and was the life of every party. 

Our hearts ache at losing him, but we can find comfort in knowing that he is now enjoying a beautiful reunion with his beloved parents and siblings who have gone before him, sharing with them tales of the love and laughter he left behind.

Patrick's unwavering love for family and heritage reminds us to embrace life as he did, cherishing and enjoying every moment. He will live on through the memories we hold close to our hearts, the lives he touched, and the unending laughter he inspired.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, William J Darby Sr. and Helen I Darby (Gorman) and his sister Mary Kay Deemer, his brothers William J. Darby (James), Dennis O. Darby, Bernard G. Darby, and Timothy J. Darby. He is survived by his brothers Paul A. Darby, Michael C. Darby and his sister Kimberly A. Offord.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at 10:30 at St Matthews Apostle Catholic Church, at 807 Havens Corners Rd Gahanna, OH 43230 with a luncheon at the church followed by a Celebration of Life at Steve & Anne's Leister's home located at 4524 Neisawander Sq, New Albany, OH 43054.
