Patricia married Richard Richardson on September 23rd, 1982
Survived by her husband, Richard, her sister Peggy, and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia grew up with her siblings in Wakarusa, Kansas a few miles south of Topeka. She taught elementary school for 10 years in Kansas City, Kansas until she and her best friend, Kathy (also an elementary school teacher), moved to Seattle, eventually found jobs teaching in daycares. Pat and Richard met through mutual church friends. And were married about a year later. Pat applied for teaching positions in Alaska and was eventually hired by the Northwest Arctic Borough School District to teach in Deering, which, at that time was a town of about 160 people, on the North shore of the Seward Peninsula. Pat and Richard moved to Deering around the 10th of August 1984 and Pat retired from that job at the end of the school year in June of 2003. From there they move to the home in Bend, Oregon that Richard had been building for a few months each year for about 18 years. Pat then worked as a teacher with the Head Start program in Central Oregon for about 10 years. After retiring from Head Start she took up volunteering 4 hours a week at Bethlehem Inn until the Covid pandemic intervened. She returned for 2 hours a week for a short time after lock down ended. Unfortunately, Pat's health began to decline and she was no longer able to continue her volunteering.
Pat continued to be active attending and volunteering at church whenever circumstances allowed.
