Patricia's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Patricia Tam, on October 14, 2024.

Born on April 18, 1955, in Mumbai, India, Patricia lived a life full of love, dedication, and strength. Patricia was one of seven siblings and a devoted mother to Michele, Ryan, and Jenny, and a beloved grandmother to Archie and Matilda.

Patricia faced some of life’s hardest challenges with grace, strength and an unending commitment to love. She raised 3 children as a single-parent for most of her life, worked multiple jobs so they could live in a neighborhood with good schools, and still made time to cook home made meals every day and take them out for long walks, always listening with an understanding and empathetic heart.

She moved mountains to care for her family and always supported and encouraged her children to pursue their dreams. She always just wanted her children to be happy and regularly gave the advice to ‘kill em with kindness.’ She gave everything for her family and friends and never expected anything in return.

Patricia fiercely battled breast cancer since 2012, and she passed peacefully in LA, free of pain and suffering, with love overcoming the battle she fought.

Her final hours were spent with family, friends, and her church alongside her, both in person and through video. Although she was unable to speak during her last hours, her spirit could be felt as loved ones sang praises, read Scripture, cried, shared memories, and prayed with her.

Patricia’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. She will forever be remembered for her strength, her Christ-like love, and the Light she brought into the world.

We honor her through our stories and by striving to carry on her loving spirit in our own lives. She lives on not only in photographs, stories and memories, but in our future; in the way we continue to spread love to as many people as we can, just as she did.

We will miss her immensely, but take comfort in knowing she is at peace in heaven watching over us. Rest in love and peace, Mom. Thank you for being our everything.
