Patricia Smith-Brown, 73, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, surrounded by family.

Upon graduating from O'Brien High School in Kalamazoo, MI (1968), Pat's determined spirit led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. This pursuit of knowledge and a relentless dedication to her craft defined her 38-year professional career as an RN at Borgess Medical Center.

In 2011, Pat relocated from Kalamazoo to South Haven, MI. Further explorations led her to Bonita Springs, FL, in 2014 before moving to Charleston, SC, in July of 2023, where she enjoyed spending time with her 3 grandchildren, Ella (3y), Paige (1y) and Camden (4m).

In her leisure time, Pat loved cooking, constantly experimenting with new recipes that she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. Pat was an avid reader, finding solace and joy in literature with routine visits to Barnes & Noble. She was also fond of walking along the beach. She loved exploring botanical gardens and National Parks, appreciating the tranquillity and beauty of the natural world.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Tori (Paul) Hall, and son Tyson (Stephanie) Brown; grandchildren, Ella, Paige and Camden Brown. And siblings Mike (Diane) Smith, Mary Jane Holcomb, Molly (Dave) Pink, Bridget (Kermit) Horn,  George Smith, Ken (Pam) Smith, Tim Smith, Tom (Dana) Smith, and Sean (Amy) Smith. Our family is grateful to know Pat is at peace; her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
