Patricia's obituary
Nan Patricia Sheridan Anderson known also as Pat and Patsy, 86, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on February 12, 2026, with her loving family at her side.
Patsy (as she was known in her youth) was born in Mexico City to Humberto Sheridan and Elizabeth Croft Sheridan on May 12, 1939. She grew up in the Hipódromo neighborhood of Mexico City and graduated as salutatorian from the American School Foundation in Mexico City in 1956. She graduated magna cum laude from Mexico City College in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Philosophy.
In 1958 she met Monte LeRoy Anderson of Denver, Colorado, who was attending Mexico City College with her. They fell in love and married on November 12, 1960, in Mexico City before settling in Denver, Colorado.
Throughout her life, she had many occupations while raising her family and helping Monte to complete medical school: homemaker, ski shop worker, cosmetics entrepreneur, fast food restaurant manager, real estate agent and MBA Program advisor at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She retired from work in 1979.
From her childhood until the days before she passed away, Pat was an artist and would like to have been remembered for this. She wrote, scored, directed and performed musicals including "Come Tuesday" and "The Blue Armadillo" which were staged in community theatres in Temple and San Antonio, Texas. Throughout her life, she loved singing and acting and performed live in many plays. She actively sang in choral groups and church choirs. She wrote and recorded a new age album "Metamorphosis" and many other original songs.
After moving to Arizona in 1987, Pat's artistic passion turned to photography and she spent the rest of her life obsessively capturing, retouching and sharing the beauty of the people, animals, plants, deserts, forests, mountains and towns in Arizona and all of the places she went. Her signature photographs are known as "kaleidoscopes" and present her observations through that lens.
Pat was preceded in death by her brothers Louis, William, Humberto, Robert, Terrell and Richard, and her sister Betty. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Monte; her daughter Elizabeth Smiley and her sons Mark (spouse Kirsten) and Chris (spouse Seiko); five grandchildren Tina, Ceci, Reynessa, Alex and Eve; eight great-grandchildren Cameron, Ava, Hannah, Bella, Emma, Seren, Avante and Anaya; and one great-great grandson Izayah.
