Patricia's obituary

Patricia Marie Shane

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and unforgettable soul.

1941-2025

With deep sorrow and infinite love, we share the passing of Patricia (Patti) Marie Shane, who left this world peacefully on July 19, 2025 at the age of 84.  Patti was a woman of unmatched wit, charm, and personality-a true original who left a lasting impression everywhere she went.

Born in 1941, Patti lived life on her own terms.  She had a rare gift for telling it like it was-especially when it came to how people looked. Whether it was a compliment or a lovingly blunt observation, she always said exactly what was on her mind.  Somehow, even in those brutally honest moments, you couldn't help but love her more for it.

Though she never owned a live chicken, Patti had a legendary love for chicken decor. Over the years, her home became a living tribute to the cluck-worthy collectibles gifted by friends and family from every corner of the map. Each piece reflected not just her personality, but the many people who loved her enough to say "This chicken made me think of you".

Patti was the kind of women people remembered-whether it was her laugh, her wisdom, her love of the Hallmark channel or her fiery one-liners. She had a heart big enough to hold generations and a presence that made every room brighter, bolder, and just a little bit more fun. She was fiercely loyal, wonderfully stubborn, and endlessly loved.

Patti was preceded in death by her husband Paul Joseph Shane and her two brothers (Thomas and Charles). She is survived by her children, Pamela Blount of Mansfield, Texas, Peggy Shane Clark of Noblesville, Indiana. A sister, Kathy Mayerski of Solon, Ohio, three Grandchildren (Amanda, Joshua and Jordan) and two Great Grandchildren (Ethan and Emma). All of whom carry pieces of her strength, humor, and good spirit with them forever.

In her honor, we ask that every time you see a piece of chicken decor you think of her.

Patti donated her body to science so she could continue to help future generations.
