Patricia's obituary
Patricia Helen Johnson, 85, of Manteca, California, on a sunny March day passed to the other side of the veil to be with her family and Savior. Patty, born on October 22, 1936, to Leroy and Helen Russell in Ogden, Utah, had struggled with Alzheimers for over 13 years. She is now free of that disease and happy to embrace her next journey! Patty graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento in 1954. July 17th after graduating, our young parents were married and she became Mrs, Hugh Carroll Johnson. Mom went on to receive her LVN from Chico State College in the 70's. She loved working as a Surgical Nurse at Feather River Hospital in Paradise for many years. During that time Sandy, her youngest daughter, was born, and Kathy, the oldest daughter, graduated from Paradise High School just days apart. In 1976 her greatest wish was fulfilled and the family was sealed in the Oakland Temple for all Eternity. Patty was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Sweet Adalines and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings, including Relief Society President in Manteca. Mom loved music and played the piano singing hymns and patriotic songs, as well as other music as long as she was able. She was a loving mother to all her five children on earth. Now she is in heaven loving Mikey, the baby she lost to SIDS so many years ago. Family came first and was above all else to our mother. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill, but we understand that she is in a better place and embracing our father in pure joy. Patty is survived by brother Jim Russell, daughters Kathy, Terri (Mike), Beth (Ron) and Sandy as well as her son Joseph (Susy). Sixteen grandchildren and one angel grandson, Scott. Forty-nine great grandchildren and two angel great grandbabies, Bryson and Liam. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia Johnson's name to help others in need, at a charity of your choice. Gravesite service will be Monday, March 21 at 11am in the Paradise Cemetary.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful caretakers that have taken loving care of our mother all these years. Especially our youngest sister, Sandy. Rest in peace our beautiful mother!
