Patricia's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Rivard-Ramos, a remarkable woman, wife, and mother. Patricia was born on June 10, 1941 in New Bedford MA, and passed away on October 10, 2023.
Patricia carried many roles throughout her life, but her most cherished were that of a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald and daughter, Monica daSilva. They will forever remember Pat's kindness, compassion, and love for family, animals, and nature.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, Patricia's curiosity and zest for life took her on countless adventures, both locally and abroad. She had a deep love for learning about nature and foreign cultures, which steered her travels and enhanced her wealth of knowledge. She lived in Brazil for 2 years and loved her travels to The Azores and Portugal with her husband Donald. Patricia also maintained a special affection for cats, providing shelter, love, and care to many feline companions over the years.
In her professional life, Patricia made significant contributions to the realm of knowledge, serving Cleveland State University Library for 33 years before her retirement. She enjoyed hosting numerous international students and staff from around the world. Some students and professors would stay in the guest bedroom of her home for an entire school year.
Her dedication to her work was apparent in her commitment and the lasting impact she left at Cleveland State University.
A burial for Patricia will be held on November 10, 2023, at 11 AM at the Bay Pines National Cemetery. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, curiosity, and love in shaping a life well-lived, and she will be deeply missed.
