Patricia's obituary

Patricia Ann Burrell Pleasants was born on January 27, 1950 to Irving & Rosaline Burrell. Patricia departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Sentara CarePlex in Hampton, Virginia.

Patricia was born in Middlesex County, VA where she graduated from St. Clare Walker High School. She then attended Norfolk State University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and becoming a member of the National Society of Pershing Angels. She worked for the City of Norfolk’s Fleet Management Department for over 25 years retiring in 2011.

Patricia accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was very active in her faith. She attended Memorial Baptist Church in Hampton, VA where she was a devoted deacon, sang in the choir, worked in the clothes closet, and served as a member of various committees. She was also an active member of the Hampton Senior Center where she participated in weekly line dancing and Zumba classes as well as an African dance group, most recently performing on this past Juneteenth.

Patricia is preceded in death by father, Irving L. Burrell;  brothers, Irving Burrell, Jr., Kevin Burrell & Rydell Burrell.; and parents-in-law, Elijah and Elaine Pleasants.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, Larry Pleasants; her mother, Rosaline Burrell; one brother, Berkley Burrell; two daughters, Patrice Jackson (Clinton II), and Wendy Simmons (Nathaniel); eight grandchildren, Jaden, Clinton III, Caila, Jordyn, Cassidy, Jaycie, Nate Jr., & Noah Patrick; one sister-in-law, Linda Stephenson; an aunt, Lucinda Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
