Patricia's obituary
Patricia Ellsworth Louth Wilson, age 95, of St. Johns MI died Tuesday January 21st, 2025, peacefully in her sleep after battling dementia and suffering several mini strokes in August. She was a loving, funny, and feisty mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Pat was born December 19, 1929, in Lansing Michigan to Hugh and Winifred (Booth) Ellsworth. She attended Rodney B Wilson High and was married November 1st, 1947, to Raymond W Louth of Ovid, MI. They had one son Mitchell R Louth.
Pat worked at the Michigan School for the Blind for 23 years (1952 – 1974). After Raymond's death in 1969, she remarried to Alvin (Chum) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, MI in 1974. She graduated from Shepherd High School in 1974 while living in Mt. Pleasant. Upon returning to St. Johns in 1980 after Chum’s death, she worked at Hazel I Findlay for 13 years as the Supervisor of Housekeeping. She received her ward clerk certification from Lansing Community College and her certification for the National Housekeeping Association from Henry Ford Community College. Pat was a member of the Michigan Housekeeping Association, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies.
Pat enjoyed crocheting, making ceramics, and spending quality time with family. She created many blankets and beautiful pieces that are cherished by her family. She was also an avid, lifelong reader who kept track of all the books she read. Her sisters and nieces often exchanged books and held lively discussions about what they were reading. During the summer months she enjoyed spending as much time as possible at her cottage on Lake 13 in Farwell, MI.
Pat was preceded in death by both of her husbands Raymond W Louth and Alvin (Chum) Wilson, parents Hugh and Winifred Ellsworth, and eleven siblings Amy, Genevieve, Forrest, Irene, Harvey, Muriel, Julia, Hugh, Orville, Florence and Betty. She is survived by her son Mitch (girlfriend Marcy Jorae) Louth; grandchildren Jessica (Jesse) Beatty, Elizabeth (Dan) Nedry, and Justin (Mandi Rutherford) Louth; great grandchildren Turner, Aaliyah and Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved fiercely.
Memorial services will take place in spring and Pat will be interred in Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI following the memorial.
