Pat's obituary
Pat was born to a large family on December 4, 1957 to Hiram and Donna Shaver and grew up to have a large family of her own. As a lover of all things craft related, she would often gift her creations to those around her, seek out stones to beautify, and simply enjoy her life with her husband, DJ. She loved God with everything she had and studied scripture relentlessly. Her one wish is that all her kids and grandkids would find the joy and love of a relationship with Christ. She was even a popular person among her kids' friends, to the point of them knowing her as Mom, both in name and relationship.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hiram Shaver (1973); mother, Donna Shaver (1979); sisters, Dolores Shaver (1946), Clairene Dunstan (2004), Judy Havens (2011); and brother, Bruce Shaver (2020).
She was survived by her husband, David (DJ) McKenzie; sister, Sandy Harrington; and brothers Butch and Eugene; daughters, Michelle (husband, Rob with kids, Heather and Zachary), Amber (husband, Andrew with kids, Alyssa and Alexander); sons Chad (wife, Bonnie with kids, Dominic, Kendyn, and Ellianna) and Christopher (wife, Jessica with son Ezra).
There will be a private memorial held in honor of Pat. We are not asking for flowers or gifts, but if anything wants to be sent, contact one of her children for instructions.
Pat influenced a lot of people in her life and made friends wherever she went. She struggled through a lot, but through it all, she always found a way to have fun, and inspired those around her to be better people. She expressed her desire for her kids to love stronger, live longer, and work harder than she ever could. On behalf of the family, we thank you for your loving prayers of support and actions toward helping us all grieve this loss. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend.
She is now in Heaven; happy, whole, and healthy.
