Tish's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Patricia (Tish) Marshall. A woman whose warmth and wisdom shaped generations. Tish leaves behind a legacy woven from countless acts of kindness, devotion, and enduring love. Tish had a commitment to helping others with their struggles and guiding those she felt needed a helping hand.
Tish helped so many people on an individual level with her enduring quiet resolve. It is difficult to imagine that one person could accomplish so much in one lifetime. Her involvement brought her deep friendships and allowed her to extend her compassion beyond the bounds of family, reaching into the broader community and uplifting countless lives through acts both seen and unseen.
Aside from raising a family of eight children, Tish went back to school, obtained her RN (registered nurse) degree and worked in Northern Alberta for several years. Tish worked in all aspects of nursing, geriatrics, pediatrics, surgery, and hospice. In later life, Tish worked with home caring elderly folks and saw many souls to the other side. It could never be overstated how much she cared for people.
Having taken first nation studies, she also set about to instruct the aboriginal women of the Northern Alberta Wabasca community to cook and bake as well as other domestic improvements.
Tish was also an accomplished seamstress and always had a small corner of the house set up for pattern layout and sewing. She was also an amazing cook and could plan sumptuous meals for 4 -50 people. She had a vast knowledge of canning and food prep and preservation. She would recall how her father kept a huge garden and would often make large batches of sauerkraut.
Tish's gardening skills were also very admirable. She always kept a well tended and vibrant garden with a wide diversity of flowers and shrubs and colorful surprises at every turn. She was an avid reader and loved long walks and hikes when she was able.
A gracious soul all through life and to the end, Tish was surrounded by her family when she passed peacefully from this realm. She will be missed dearly, but her spirit lives on in every life she touched. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy of kindness, strength, and love endures in all who knew her.
She is survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of long-time friends etc.. Respectfully, too many people to list.
