Patricia (Patty) Lowry Matthews, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born on September 25th, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to James and Maxine Lowry, Patty graduated from Westminster with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She went on to have a distinguished career in commercial banking, ultimately serving as Vice President at Citizens Bank, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues.

Patty is survived by her husband John William Matthews, who she was married to for 46 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children: J. Scott (partner: Marika), Michael (wife: Samantha), and Crystal (widower). She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Maddison, Nicole, Alivia, and Eliot, who brought immense joy to her life. She cherished the time she had with her brother, Jim Lowry, his wife, Anna and niece Abby and nephew Charlie.

Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love, and the generosity she demonstrated by always being there for others. She had a passion for cooking, and her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aromas of her favorite recipes. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she made it magical for everyone with her festive spirit, decorations, and homemade treats.

An intimate memorial service will be held on September 21st, 2024 from 11am - 2pm at Black Bear Golf Club: 11400 Canterberry Pkwy, Parker, CO 80138. It will also include an online service for those who cannot attend in person, but would still like to celebrate Patty’s life.
