Patricia's obituary

**Patricia Louise (Schad) Fagan**

December 10, 1948 - July 14, 2024

Patricia Louise (Schad) Fagan, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, at Olathe Health Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas. Born on December 10, 1948, in Junction City, Kansas, Patricia lived a life filled with love, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to those around her.

Patricia’s greatest joy and purpose were found in her family. She is deeply mourned by her devoted husband, James (Jim) E. Fagan; her sons, Gibson Fagan and John Fagan; Daughter in law, Liz Socha (John) and her beloved granddaughters, China Mykal Wall (husband Christopher), Brenya Naomi Fagan, and Presley Christine Fagan. Patricia’s heart overflowed with pride and affection for her granddaughters, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and guidance. She also leaves behind step-granddaughters Brittany Gilmore and Jamie Ruebhausen, and great-grandchild Ezra Wall, whose presence brought her immeasurable happiness.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Schad and Naomi Irene Pierce Schad; her brother, Karl L. Schad; and her sister, Julie A. (Schad) Ross. She is lovingly remembered by her nephews, Tyler J. Ross (wife Kalyn) and Karl Schad (wife Carie); and niece Jeannie Fruits (husband Stanley), all of whom she cherished deeply, they are included as some of the greatest joys of her life.

Throughout her life, Patricia was a pillar of support and compassion. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She was not only a loving wife and mother but also a guiding light to her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Patricia’s impact extended beyond her family; she had a rare gift for touching the lives of everyone she met. Her presence was a beacon of light, her generosity knew no bounds, and her kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Professionally, Patricia made a significant impact as Vice President of Real Estate Lending at First Option Bank in Osawatomie, Kansas. In this role, she offered delicate financial care and guidance, helping many in her community navigate their financial journeys with confidence and support. Her career was a testament to her commitment to serving others and enhancing the well-being of those around her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia was a devoted member of the Business Professional Women, served on the Chamber Board of Directors in Osawatomie, and was an active participant in Beta Sigma Phi in Junction City. Her personal passions included gardening, creating beautiful flower arrangements and fairy gardens, and caring for the animals that found their way to her home.

Patricia’s true legacy, however, lies in her immeasurable love and generosity. She had an extraordinary ability to touch the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting imprint of kindness and warmth. Her Spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her and she will be profoundly missed.

"When you see the Kansas sunflowers, I hope you will remember a great, great day in Kansas in August." - Pat
