I miss Pat. I got to know her through a workshop I host on creating personal and family histories. She attended the monthly sessions, claiming that she had nothing interesting to write about. That was quite an exaggeration on her part, because she not only had amazing stories to share but the rich memories to bring them to life. I thought, "I should be so lucky!" I looked forward to the sessions when it was only Pat and me because then her stories came one after another and were treasures. We shared our tales of growing up in Oregon on the east side of the Cascades. She told me stories of the logging camps that she knew and I shared complimentary stories told by my logger father. Sometimes, we'd get sidetracked by the latest political news, but that, too, was biographical, and I encouraged her to write even more. I hope she did. As I said, I miss her.

Pat was truly an amazing and inspirational woman. She always had a smile on her face and was so engaged in your conversation with her. She remembered all the small details.
I spent many days during my high school years having lunch with Chris at his parent's home. Pat always made you feel welcomed. I remember when Tom and Pat bought their little piece of heaven on the Snake River in 1972. It was fun seeing her at the river each summer as she visited with the family. Pat created a strong and loving family. We are honored to have known her. Our condolences to the entire family. Pat will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
With love, Layne and Paris Davis
