Patty's obituary
Mrs. Patricia "Patty" James, fondly known as Patty, born on December 7, 1965, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Patty was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, LaVell James, and their two daughters, Melissa James and Megan Mangrum, and five adoring grandchildren. Patty also leaves behind two sisters, Pamela Logan (Twin) and Anne Cleverly. She is reunited in death with her parents, Beatrice (Ranae) and Darrell Cleverly, and her dear sister, Shauna Wait.
Patty's magnetic personality was mirrored in her love for vibrant colors, especially pink. She was fond of Italian pasta, pizza, and sweets, such as chocolate and cookies. Over a cup of coffee or a glass of tequila margarita, she would often regale her family with funny memories. Her laughter and cheerful nature will be deeply missed.
Her enduring love for country music, TV shows like Dr. Phil, Ghost Hunters, and Detective series, as well as movies such as MaMa Mia, were a testament to her eclectic tastes. Yet, her favorite pastime was spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, watching them play and grow.
Patty was an accomplished cake decorator, a skill she used to bring joy and sweet surprises to those around her. Her lessons of never giving up and treating everyone with kindness were her enduring gifts to her loved ones.
Her legacy is encapsulated in her own words, "Love with all that you got and Kill them with kindness!" As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, cherishing the loving, caring, and strong woman that Patty was. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
