Patricia's obituary
In Loving Memory of Patricia "Patty" Hub-Weigle
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia "Patty" Hub-Weigle, who left us on April 7, 2024. Born on March 11, 1953, Pat will be forever missed and always remembered for her love, strength, and the positive impact she had on those around her.
Pat's remarkable spirit is kept alive by her beloved family – her husband, Peter Hub; her sister, Diane Weigle; her brother, William Weigle; her sister-in-law, Charlene Hron-Weigle; her sister-in-law Gabriele Hub; her brother-in-law, Blake Emerson; and her nieces and nephew, Emily, Caroline, and Charlie Hron-Weigle. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Weigle.
Pat attended the University of Michigan, and spent her junior year studying in Freiburg, Germany, where she met Peter Hub, her future husband. They married in 1978, and lived in California for 10 years before relocating to Europe. Although computer programming and systems analysis was not the career she initially imagined for herself, her masters degree in linguistics prepared her well for becoming proficient with the logical structures and rules of programming languages.
Pat loved dancing, travel, and reading. Everything she touched reflected her artistic flair and her appreciation of beauty and craftsmanship. While the multiple sclerosis that she was diagnosed with in 2002 curtailed her physical activities, the elegance and style with which she lived her life were never diminished. Her resilience and strength in the face of this challenge were an inspiration to all who knew her.
The memorial service to honor and celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, April 18 at the Chapel of the Funeral Home Dischleid, Quadenhofstrasse 106, Düsseldorf, Germany.
