Patricia L. Howe (nee Steele), age 84, of Cary, passed away January 31st, 2021 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL. She was born in December of 1936, in Chicago, IL, to Louise (nee Zillinger) and William E. Steele. Patricia graduated from Waller High School in Chicago in 1954 and attended the University of Illinois. In 2002, she retired from First Options of Chicago where she had worked in the Human Resources Department.

She was the loving mother of Kirsten Howe, Keely Hillison (Robert), and Todd Howe (Sheral) and was the beloved grandmother of Jack and Harry Sharp, Joe and Jamie Truax, and Kaitlyn and Will Howe.

Patricia was a member of the McHenry County Civil War Round Table and the Cary Area Writers Group. She was devoted to her family, passionately interested in history and writing, having authored two mystery thrillers, and she greatly enjoyed the company of her family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held for Patricia at the Davenport Family Funeral Home in Crystal Lake on Saturday, July 31st, at 11:00am.
