Patricia's obituary
Patricia Fenton, the high spirited mom who lived in joy and relished adventures with her family and friends, died June 24, 2019 at her Wappingers Falls, NY home from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. She was surrounded by the loved ones she buoyed with her exuberant spirit ever since her 2016 diagnosis with the disease.
Born in Beacon, NY on September 12, 1963 to Catherine and Francis Chiappardi, she grew up with six siblings, learning to cook and make beautiful ceramics before marrying the love of her life, William Fenton, at 30 years old on September 18, 1993.
Trish wore her heart on her sleeve, preparing gourmet meals for large groups of people and opening her door to strangers. She lived for her three children- Victoria and twins, Alexa and Robert and her granddaughter, Evalisse. She genuinely and deeply cared about people with a presence that made you feel at home.
Diagnosed with ALS in 2016, she refused to be beaten by the disease. She was an indomitable spirit, trapped in a body that betrayed her but was never without a smile. ALS may have caused her death but her light lives on. As she lost speech and mobility, she communicated with her hands and heart. Her sister, Cathy Pomarico, also passed away from ALS.
She is survived by her husband, William Fenton, and their three children, Victoria Fenton, Victoria Fenton and Alexa Fenton; Her sisters, Janet Olson, Lisa Allis-Chiappardi, Claudia Chiappardi, Gail Buccellato, Francis Chiappardi; Her brother, Vincent Chiappardi; Her grandchild, Evalisse Rios; Her nephews, Bruce Stevens, Anthony Buccellato, Dominic Buccallato, Jason Chiappardi, Michael Chiappardi, Nick Pomerico; and her niece, Ashley Pomerico-Pieper.
