We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia Ann Elfgen, 78, a longtime resident of Summerville, on July 17th 2022. Patricia died at Trident Medical Center from complications from Covid, surrounded and loved by family. She was born in Key West, FL, grew up in Miami, then moved to SC when her 3 daughters were young.  She is survived by her brother, Ralph Garcia and her sister, Midge Guthrie; her daughters, Tawnya Brazel, Tamara Brown (David) and Teri Kratz (Liz); her beloved grandchildren, Bret Lucarelli (Julianna), Britney Stapleton (Matt), Austin Rivera (Tony), Bayte Brazel and Bently Brazel; and her great grandchildren, Addison, Isabella, Carlisle, Kamyah, Carter, Harrison and Antonio. She is pre-deceased by her great grandson, Zayden. She is also survived by her adopted spoiled rotten dachshund, Roxie. 

Patricia loved her family, her friends and was a life-long dog lover. Over the years, she bred Irish Setters, Dobermans and German Shepherds. She loved to dance in her younger years, especially country line dancing. And in later years, she loved laughing and playing cards with her friends. She supported Dorchester Paws and donated often, and also became passionate about supporting the girls at Doors to Freedom when one of her daughters became a volunteer there.

A  funeral service will be held Thursday, July 28th, at Simplicity Cremation & Burial Services, 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456, at 10:00 AM.  A reception will follow at her grandson's home: 100 N. Warwick Trace, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

Memorial contributions may be made to Doors to Freedom or Dorchester Paws.
