Patricia Elaine Gray    (February 19, 1939 – September 10, 2025)

Patricia Elaine Gray (née Williams), 86, of Demarest, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Englewood Hospital, her devoted family at her bedside. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she departed this life just as she had lived it—surrounded by love.

Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Idell and George "Jack" Williams, Patricia grew up alongside her sister Vivian and brother George Jr. After attending Fairleigh Dickinson College, she began her professional life at Parents Magazine, though she would later say her most fulfilling work came in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family.

Patricia married Jerry L. Gray on February 27, 1965. Together they established deep roots in Demarest, where they raised their three children and became pillars of the community. For more than fifty-five years, Patricia served Demarest Baptist Church with uncommon dedication—teaching Sunday School, serving as deaconess, and quietly ensuring the church's daily operations ran smoothly. Her faith was not merely observed but lived, evident in her every interaction.

Those who knew Patricia remember her genuine smile that could ease any worry, her gentle way of making each person feel seen and valued, and her gift for transforming acquaintances into lifelong friends. She possessed that rare quality of making her home a haven not just for family, but for anyone who needed warmth and welcome. Her greatest treasures were her six grandchildren—Carly, Julie, Jack, Charlie, Grace, and Audrey—each of whom knew they held a special place in their grandmother's heart.

Patricia was predeceased by her sons, Jerry Lonzo Gray and Jason Conrad Gray, and her brother, George Williams Jr. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jerry L. Gray; her daughter, Mindy Wollmuth; her sister, Vivian Davis of Haworth; her nephews, Kevin and Russel Davis; and her six beloved grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to visit Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Moritz Funeral Home, 348 Closter Dock Road, Closter, NJ. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Demarest Baptist Church, 563 Piermont Road, Demarest, NJ, where she worshipped faithfully for more than five decades. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
