Patricia Cherkin, 81, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on October 25, 2021, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Patricia was born on July 9, 1940, to Claire Cherkin (Coyne) and Leonard Cherkin in Pittsburgh, PA. Patricia enjoyed collecting antiques and dolls, writing, and was a  voracious reader, and an avid protestor for civil and women's rights. 

After graduating from Monessen high school in 1958, Patricia went on to pursue a degree initially at Wilson College (Chambersburg, Pennsylvania), then at the University of Pittsburgh. She also received a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Arizona. 

Patricia met and married artist Harvey Silver (nee Jack Micheline) with whom she had her only child, son Vince Silver (Silvaer). Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Pat's life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, funny, and witty, and will be missed dearly. 

Patricia was predeceased by her brother, Roger Cherkin, mother, Claire Cherkin (Coyne), and father Leonard Cherkin. She is survived by her son, Vince Silvaer, daughter-in-law, Sheri Silvaer/Lauver, granddaughter Nicole Solai Silvaer, and grandson, Dustin Andrew Silvaer.
