Patricia's obituary

Patricia Carter (nee Duder) passed away peacefully at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on November 20 after struggling with a series of health issues. Left to mourn are her two brothers Dick (Jan) of Grand Falls, NL, and Dave (Jo) Cambridge, ON. Pat had a total of 28 nieces and nephews, and 29 grand nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished. In recent years her care and wellbeing was in the hands of nieces Jacqueline McNaughton (Barrie) Kitchener, and Jennifer Reynders (Jesse) St. Catharines. She also received long-time support from Patty Bruton (Don) Calgary, Brenda Zerafa, Mississauga, Debra Penny (Bob) Mississauga, Howard Sparkes (Jannetta), Nova Scotia, Cathy Nash (Jann) Tucson AZ, and Lorraine Ellis, Tucson, AZ. Pat was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2008.

Pat was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL in 1940. She moved to Toronto in 1958 when she was 18, and after working in Toronto for 10 years, she moved to Phoenix, AZ. There she married, and had a successful career at Motorola, Inc. She moved back to Canada and settled in Cambridge ON in 2021, where she spent the rest of her years in a seniors’ retirement home. Pat loved to play bingo with her many “bingo pals” in Arizona, including life-long friend Sylvia Lands. She continued this activity in her later years in Cambridge.

Cremation will be done at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Oakville and Pat will be laid to rest there. A Celebration of Life will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Friday, November 29 between 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM.

Many thanks to the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where she received excellent care.
